Intertek's experts can prepare Canadian Food Inspection Agency Non-Food Chemical Applications to assist you with obtaining approval for your food-grade products.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency's (CFIA) Non-Food Chemical and Container Integrity Program sets requirements for, and evaluates submissions for CFIA acceptance for, the safe use of non-food chemical products (i.e. cleaners), food packaging materials and construction materials in federally registered food establishments.
The process consists of evaluating each chemical ingredient in a product individually and as a whole to ensure their use will not present a food safety concern. If a product is accepted for use in a food establishment, a letter of acceptance is issued to the applicant and the accepted product will be listed on the CFIA website.
