Dylan Bowes, Scientific Associate II, Chemicals Group
Dylan Bowes joined Intertek Health Sciences Inc.’s Chemicals Group in 2020 as the group’s Administrative Assistant. In this role, he gained a comprehensive understanding of the group’s operations and the functions and responsibilities of each team in meeting clients’ regulatory needs. This foundational knowledge facilitated his transition to Associate I later in 2020 and subsequently to Associate II in 2024. With experience in both laboratory and field settings, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, Dylan effectively assists clients in bringing their products to market efficiently.
As an Associate II, Dylan’s primary responsibilities include serving as the group’s Testing Coordinator. In this capacity, he plays a pivotal role in developing testing strategies and overseeing the placement and monitoring of testing programs to support regulatory notifications across multiple jurisdictions.
Dylan is also a key member of the Hazard Communication Team, managing claims for exemption from disclosure of confidential business information (CBI) in Canada in compliance with the Hazardous Materials Information Review Act (HMIRA). Additionally, he oversees the group’s Poison Centre Notification (PCN) program, ensuring accurate reporting of mixtures classified for health or physical hazards to the European Chemicals Agency.
Furthermore, Dylan supports the Toxicology Team by reviewing environmental toxicology and fate protocols and reports and assisting in the development of Environmental Risk Assessments (ERAs). Dylan holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Science and Toxicology from the University of Guelph
