Erjin Eio, Ph.D., M.Sc., B.Sc., Director, Japan, Food & Nutrition Group
Dr. Eio works on a range of global regulatory projects for new and existing Japanese clients for food ingredients and food additives based in Japan, Tokyo. She assists existing and potential Japanese clients interested in food regulations and approvals outside of Japan as well as incoming Japanese regulatory and strategy requests. She has also consulted foreign clients wishing to expand their food ingredients and food additives into the Japanese market as well as other parts of Asia. She helps clients submit premarket approval applications in Southeast Asia, especially in Malaysia and Singapore.
She was awarded a PhD in Environmental Engineering by Soka University Japan in September 2015 and has published two papers in scientific journals. Prior to working for Intertek, Er Jin was employed by a Japanese based health supplement company from September 2015 to October 2018, where she established a laboratory and conducted research on the extraction of anti-oxidants from marine diatoms.
Dr. Eio represents Intertek in Japan as a regulatory consultant by providing expert strategic planning advice with respect to complex Japanese regulatory projects and identifies, develops and maintains successful, long term business relationships between and representative companies in the Japanese market.
Er Jin speaks four languages, English, Chinese, Malay and Japanese. She worked in Malaysia and intermittently in China from March 2009 to April 2011 for the Global Environmental Centre as International Coordinator for a World Bank-funded project in China.
