Julie James, M.Sc., Senior Manager 2, Safety & Regulatory Affairs, Food & Nutrition Group

Ms. James, a Senior Scientific Consultant in the Food and Nutrition group, has been with Intertek since 2007. Ms. James has considerable experience with Natural Health Product (NHP)/novel food/food additive applications in Canada, Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) applications in Australia, novel food/food additive applications in the European Union, and Generally Recognized as Safe ingredients (GRAS) procedures in the United States. Additionally, Ms. James utilizes this experience to conduct feasibility assessments and regulatory strategy/assessments for ingredients to be marketed in multiple jurisdictions.

Ms. James received her Honours B.Sc. in Biomedical Toxicology from the University of Guelph and her M.Sc. in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Monitoring from the University of Ulster.
