Karen Ngo, B.Sc., Scientific Consultant 1, Toxicology & Dietary Intakes, Food & Nutrition
Karen is a highly experienced dietary intake specialist, and one of the senior members of Intertek’s intake team. Ms. Ngo has been with Intertek Scientific and Regulatory Consultancy for over 15 years and works to design and accurately establish dietary exposure for food ingredients and food additives as part of safety evaluations for submission to various authoritative bodies. She has considerable knowledge and expertise in conducting dietary exposure assessments for multiple jurisdictions, which include the United States, European Union, Canada, Singapore, Mexico, and Brazil.
In addition, Ms. Ngo is involved in summarizing and critically analysing scientific literature and study reports of novel food ingredients/food additives for submission/notification to various authoritative bodies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Health Canada, and the European Food Safety Authority.
Ms. Ngo received her B.Sc. with honours from the University of Toronto, specializing in Toxicology. Ms. Ngo is a member of the Society of Toxicology and has published papers in peer-reviewed journals on the topics related to toxicology and regulatory affairs.
