Trung Vo, a Senior Scientific Consultant in the Food and Nutrition group, has been with Intertek Health Sciences Inc. since 2013. He is actively involved in the preparation of successful regulatory submissions for food ingredients, additives, enzymes, and flavourings to the United States Food and Drug Administration, European Food Safety Authority, Food Standards Australia New Zealand, Health Canada, and Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives, and has considerable experience in developing regulatory strategy for introduction of food ingredients in key markets. Trung is the lead for the bioinformatics team and has been involved in evaluating potential allergenicity and toxigenicity of food ingredients using in silico methods. He has also been actively involved in publication of toxicological studies and bioinformatics assessments in scientific peer-reviewed journals and has authored and co-authored over 10 publications related to novel food ingredients and food enzymes.

Trung received his M.Sc. in Food Safety from Michigan State University. His thesis project included a safety evaluation of novel technologies used in the manufacture of high-intensity sweeteners, specifically steviol glycosides and Luo Han Guo extracts. Trung received his B.Sc. (Honours) in Toxicology from the University of Guelph.
