Our suite of testing services for flooring includes:
Durability – Determine performance when product is exposed to cycling that simulates conditions commonly found in the field.
Material Properties – Ensure that products meet performance expectations and verify manufacturer specifications.
Fire and Flammability – Meet domestic and international fire resistance building code and regulatory requirements critical for life safety including ASTM, BS, CAN/ULC, EN, ISO, NFPA, and UL standards.
Acoustic – Test to ASTM and ISO standards for airborne and impact sound transmission including STC and IIC ratings to determine compliance with the International Building Code.
Product Certification – The Warnock Hersey and ETL marks show a product or system’s conformance to code ensuring the on-going verification of compliance, as well as providing the end-user confidence that their products have been independently evaluated.
Sanitation & Microbiology – Validate compliance with food safety requirements for the materials, design, and manufacture of supplemental flooring intended for use in food preparation, dry storage, and ware washing areas.
Slip Resistance – Maximize safety on flooring products through slip resistance testing, including ASTM, ANSI, and AS standards.
ETL Sustainability – Ensure your products are environmentally friendly by testing to standards such as CDPH 01350. The ETL Sustainability Certification Mark is equivalent to the Greenguard program. Certification facilitates LEED Credits which are available for Low-Emitting materials.
Floor Flatness Testing is a measurement of how flat and level a floor slab was constructed/finished by the concrete contractor. Floor Flatness testing involves determination of an FF and FL number for the finished product to ensure compliance with the project specification. Flatness and Levelness has a direct impact on the finished floor surface.
Floor Moisture Analysis determines the Moisture Emissions (Slab-On-Grade) or Relative Humidity in the concrete slab prior to floor installation (Tile, Carpet, Wood, etc.). High levels of Moisture Emissions and/or Relative Humidity can directly impact the installation of flooring causing issues such as bond failure of adhesive, mold, warping of wood, etc. Knowing the Moisture Emissions and Relative Humidity of the concrete slab prior to installation of the finished floor will aid the contractor in selecting the correct adhesive or provide information to determine the need of moisture mitigation of the slab.
