Mr. Jernigan has more than 25 years of experience in the environmental, health, and safety field.  He provides comprehensive industrial hygiene services nationwide to address chemical, physical, and biological hazards and stressors in the workplace.  Mr. Jernigan leads Intertek-PSI’s Industrial Hygiene service line providing technical guidance globally. He has served as a corporate level safety and health principal for a major energy provider and currently maintains a varied private client base that consists of multi-site and global companies. He has also provided consultation to many federal, state, and local governmental entities. In addition, Mr. Jernigan’s historical work includes environmental contamination assessment and remediation of properties throughout the southeast United States.

Representative Environmental/Indoor Air Quality Project Experience -

State and Local Government Projects

  • HISD – Principal for a District wide potable water and Indoor air quality assessment initiative for approximately 300 school campuses in Houston, TX
  • Northwest School Districts, Florida - Principal Consultant for large-scale asbestos abatement and demolition projects and other industrial hygiene related services
  • Florida Jail - Provided various industrial hygiene consulting services for an operational jail facility
  • County, Florida - Provided consulting services for roadway project where asbestos laden fill material was improperly placed
  • Florida School District - Provided project management and oversight for large-scale mold remediation projects post Hurricane Ivan. As many as 33 schools were remediated in a period of approximately three weeks.
  • Florida City - Principal Consultant for IAQ assessments of State's Attorney offices
  • Managed several State of Florida Petroleum Cleanup Program Sites to include the assessment contaminated media and remedial design and implementation.

  • GSA Nationwide – Principal for Metals (lead and copper) and Bacterial (coliforms and legionella) potable water assessments across GSA owned and leased facilities

  • NAS Jacksonville - Principal Consultant for the abatement of asbestos-containing materials from in excess of 200 housing units

  • Private Client – Principal for periodic Industrial Hygiene consulting services for the assessment of potential exposure to novel chemical hazards in a large-scale wind turbine facility in Basel, Switzerland
  • Private Client – Principal for the global testing of multiple tool ventilation systems to verify compliance with SEMI testing criteria
