Scope: This standard establishes procedures for conducting tests to determine the strength and deformation characteristics of mechanically fastened and welded connections for cold-formed steel building components.
Applicable Products: Connections of thin components to relatively thick components, connection of two or more thin components, fasteners (including screws, power-actuated, bolts, rivets, clinch joining connections, mechanically formed connections and button punches) and welded connections (including groove welds in butt joints, arc spot welds, arc seam welds, top arc seam welds, fillet welds and flare groove welds)
Test Procedures: Connections are tested for shear, tensile and combined loads
End Result: For determination of allowable strength and/or design strength.
