Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, will be hosting a complimentary one-day Sustainability in Manufacturing Forum on October 24th at the Intertek Stuttgart, Germany office.

  • Responsible and Ethical Sourcing Standards for Products
    Details: Interpreting requirements of various reporting and certification standards can be a challenge for manufacturing companies. This session will help attendees understand what options, standards and certifications exist to help demonstrate good manufacturing practices (GMP) and provide guidance on how to prove compliance. Our expert will outline current frameworks while integrating practical examples (case studies). 
  • Circular Economy
    Details: The Circular Economy is an economic system which is intended to eliminate waste and the continual use of resources, and promotes reuse, recycling and more. Can standards help, or do they hinder development in business activities? This session will go in-depth and define what the circular economy is and what opportunities there are for manufacturers.
  • Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
    Details: An environmental certification program is a seal of approval which shows that a product meets a certain eco-labelling standard. It provides customers with visible evidence of the product's desirability from an environmental perspective. This session will provide background information on LCAs and will discuss carbon footprints as well as EPDs (ISO 14021 will be included). 
Attendees will be able to choose from the following session times:
  •  8:00-10:00am UTC+1;
  • 12:00-2:00pm UTC+1; or 
  • 4:00-6:00pm UTC+1
During the meeting, there will be time set aside for Q&A. In addition, attendees will have the chance to meet and network with our expert, Katie Livesey. Katie is based in London, UK, and over the last 20 years she has worked on various projects assessing and utilising environmental, social and economic information for businesses across sectors, focusing on the built environment. Katie is experienced in standards creation, stakeholder consultation, supply chain management and collaboration, auditing, and implementation of sustainability data frameworks. She is an expert in responsible and ethical sourcing as well as designing sustainability KPIs and methods that deliver circular economy benefits, sustainability added value and reducing brand risk. In addition, Katie has extensive experience in environmental labelling standards applications, Life Cycle Assessment studies, Environmental Product Declarations creation, ESG reporting for financial sectors, and many others.
