AHAM AC-5 Testing: Assessing the Reduction Rate of Key Bioaerosols by Portable Air Cleaners

AHAM AC-5 is one of the first air purification standards created to address the removal and inactivation of airborne pathogens. In addition to AC-1 CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) ratings Intertek can now offer manufacturers with m-CADR (Microbial Clean Air Delivery Rates) rating for appliances with germicidal function.

As an approved AHAM test laboratory for AC-5, our test results provide a universal rating which will allow manufacturers to not only market their product but be able to determine the effect of minor design changes to the reduction rate of pathogens.
