Implementation of Customs Union Technical Regulations for EAEU new members
In 2015 the Republic of Armenia and the Kyrgyz Republic officially joined the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), previously the Customs Union, which had comprised of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
The Republic of Armenia began the implementation of the Customs Union Technical Regulations on the 2nd January 2016.
The Kyrgyz Republic began the implementation of the Customs Union Technical Regulations on the 12th February 2016.
Product conformity assessment requirements and procedures will be fully introduced in these new member countries within the next few years. The introduction of Customs Union Technical Regulations will be done in stages, while the issuance of new conformity documents started in January and February 2016.
Transitional periods will vary depending on the type of products and applicable legislation. For some products, this will finish at the beginning of 2017, while for others it will last until early 2021. Intertek can talk you through these regulations and transitional periods.
