What is CompEx Certification?

CompEx Certification is an internationally recognized qualification program designed for individuals working in hazardous environments where there is a risk of explosion. "CompEx" stands for Competency in Explosive Atmospheres and is primarily aimed at engineers, technicians, and other professionals involved in the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of equipment or systems in such environments.

CompEx Certification ensures workers are competent in safely operating, installing, maintaining, and inspecting equipment in explosive atmospheres, aligning with international standards like the IEC 60079 series. The certification offers various modules tailored to specific roles, such as Ex01–Ex04 for electrical and instrumentation personnel, Ex05–Ex06 for combustible dust environments, Ex11 for mechanical engineers, and Ex14 for the design of electrical installations in hazardous areas. Training and assessment are provided by accredited centers and include both theoretical learning and practical evaluations. Globally respected, the certification demonstrates a commitment to safety and requires renewal every five years to ensure that professionals stay updated with evolving standards and practices.
