Intertek Hosted Hong Kong’s First Full LED Testing Center Grand Opening Ceremony

Following HKSAR’s government initiative of supporting the six major industries, Intertek Testing Services (Hong Kong) Ltd. has taken the first step in supporting the testing and certification industry by making a significant investment in equipment: the Mirror Style Type C Goniophotometer. Intertek is a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world, from auditing and inspection, to testing, quality assurance and certification services. The 2010 Grand Opening Ceremony of Hong Kong’s First Full LED Testing Center was held on 15 March 2010. Ms Janet Wong, JP, Commissioner of Innovation and Technology Commission, who has been a strong supporter of the testing and certification industry, was invited to host the opening ceremony.
A number of guests representing the LED industry, environmental organizations and lighting brands gathered at Intertek to witness the testing center’s grand opening, including: Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Consumer Council, Hong Kong Electrical Industry Association, ASTRI, European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, Philips and Megaman.
During the ceremony, Intertek showcased the very first Mirror Style Type C Goniophotometer in Hong Kong. An impressed audience watched engineers demonstrate the 13 meter long testing equipment. The industry representatives showed great interest and were impressed by the sophistication of the testing center. Intertek Hong Kong announced the official opening of the Mirror Style Type C Goniophotometer for the LED industry during the event.

The 2010 Grand Opening Ceremony of Hong Kong’s First LED Testing Center hosted by Intertek Hong Kong signifies a new generation for Asia Pacific’s testing and certification industry. It further strengthens the relationship between the Asia Pacific testing and certification industry while providing a sufficient means in supporting the emerging LED industry.
