Intertek to present automotive Polymer Materials Development Programs at VDI 2012 conference
13 Mar 2012
Stuttgart, Germany - Intertek(LSE: ITRK), a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world, today announces its extended programme to support the automotive polymer market which is designed to help the industry keep ahead in the most efficient streamlined business processes, innovation and production quality as the company prepares to attend the Association of German Engineers (VDI) Annual Plastics in Automotive Engineering conference 2012.
The VDI 2012 Conference will present institutional trends and insights into the future direction of automotive polymer materials, with a high focus on lighting technology and related design for interior and exterior. Intertek has supported manufacturers, engineers, owners and operators in the automotive industry with a broad range of services including testing and certification of polymer materials and components, safety testing, advisory support on regulatory demands and sustainability programs: and now all of this in support of next generation polymer composite materials.
Intertek experts will be on hand to discuss industry issues such as:
- the increased pressure on R&D from demand for shorter timelines to market.
- Intertek’s Development Support Programs; tailored programs in analysis and physical testing combined with pilot moulding facilities designed to accelerate approval of new materials.
”Intertek’s automotive polymer characterisation programs underpin our clients’ product development activities,” said Frank Huijnen, Business Line Leader Automotive Materials. “The aim is to facilitate shorter production lead times through testing raw materials and compounds in their final form at early stage of the development process onwards. The understanding of the materials characteristics and behaviour during production has helped clients to streamline their development activities facilitating a competitive position with substantial economical advantage”
