Intertek recognized for commitment to delivering Total Quality Assurance
18 Jun 2018
Longview, TX - Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, has been recognized for its safety and customer service excellence. Honored by The Safety Council of East Texas (SCET), Intertek received the following awards: Zero Incident Rate, Incident Improvement Rate, Four Years Worked with No Lost Time, and an Excellence Finalist. SCET members that performed work in 2017 within a four-state area of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma were eligible for an award, where safety performance was measured using the Incident Rate as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Intertek’s Asset Integrity Management (AIM) team provides conventional and advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) services as well as American Petroleum Institute (API) inspections and has been a member of SCET since 1996. Throughout this time its expert personnel have consistently exceeded the safety standards established by industry regulators.
The SCET was formed under the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act on October 9, 1991 by East Texas contractors and industry leaders to improve the safety work performance of members and their employees. SCET provides safety training and testing programs that increase compliance with regulatory standards. SCET members are involved in a wide array of industries, including industrial manufacturing, energy, oil and gas, engineering, architecture, surveying, and construction.
Rick Wall, Council President, commented: “Qualifying for safety awards such as these is based on strict criteria outlined by federal OSHA injury reporting requirements. Intertek has again demonstrated its commitment to safety not only for its own personnel, but for all on-site personnel and the surrounding communities. We are excited to recognize this commitment, and it is evident that Intertek takes great pride in safety assurance.”
Mr. Kristopher Campbell, Intertek AIM Quality Health Safety & Environment (QHSE) Administrator in Longview, said: “Safety is our first priority. More than 70 Longview-based Intertek AIM personnel safely worked over 146,000 hours during 2017. Every one of us stands by our values, and we continue to exceed our customers’ expectations while ensuring a great customer experience.”
Following on from this commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience, Intertek’s Longview AIM team was also recognized by VME Fabricators Inc. for its excellent customer service. In a letter received from VME’s Supply Chain Manager, Mr. Jason Coombs, Intertek was commended for reliability, dependability, and the provision of properly certified technical personnel, and VME acknowledges Intertek as “a company we can always count on”.
