Intertek Issues first Low Carbon Intensity Certification for Soda Ash

Evaluating and validating carbon emissions with Intertek CarbonClear certification
Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, has expanded its CarbonClear industry diversification and announced the low carbon intensity certification for soda ash produced by WE Soda Ltd at its two facilities in Türkiye.
WE Soda, the world’s largest producer of natural soda ash, utilises a low carbon intensity solution when extracting soda ash and sodium bicarbonate from trona ore. Intertek verified WE Soda’s upstream production (cradle-to-gate) carbon intensity in accordance with Intertek’s CarbonClear certification programme. Following detailed analysis and reporting, CarbonClear certification was issued for two soda ash solution mining facilities in Türkiye. The certification boundary spans upstream production through to packaging.
