Intertek Awarded Extended Geographical Coverage under Tanzania’s Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity Programme

Tanzania Bureau of Standards Renews Intertek’s Appointment as Authorised Conformity Assessment Body
Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, is pleased to announce the renewal of its contract with the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) for the country’s Pre-Verification of Conformity (PVoC) programme, with expanded geographical zones to further enhance service delivery.
Tanzania’s PVoC programme aims to ensure that goods exported to Tanzania comply with the country’s regulatory standards. The renewal underscores the continued trust placed in Intertek by the Tanzanian government. It also highlights Intertek’s critical role in the PVoC programme, where it ensures that goods are in line with national and international standards, facilitating faster access to the market while minimising potential delays.
As a conformity assessment body, Intertek will continue to carry out the conformity assessments process, including verifying that products meet the required quality standards, along with testing, inspection, and the issuance of the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) before goods are shipped to Tanzania.
Under the renewed agreement, from 1st March 2025 Intertek has been awarded new zones, including several exclusive zones of responsibility, further strengthening its capacity to serve exporters worldwide.
