Whether determined through scientific procedures or based on common use in food before 1958, the Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status of a food substance depends on how a substance is used, not just what it is. This includes not just the proposed use levels but the target population. A substance that is GRAS for use in human food may not be GRAS for use in animal feed and vice versa.  This webinar download will explore key differences and similarities between GRAS evaluations for human food and animal feed ingredients.
