White Paper | Enabling Non-Wovens Development
Evaluating Their Functional Properties
Polymer non-woven textiles and films are being explored for a wide range of applications. Their suitability and performance are dependent on their functional properties and so understanding these properties, and any limitations of the materials, is a key concern for new product development. Robust testing is required to gain this insight, and experience and the use of standardised testing can help drive innovation and decision making with respect to production processes to refine properties for the application in mind.
In this article, our experts Julie Mason, Senior Scientist and Ian Priestnall, Technical Consultant, introduces the definitions of non-wovens, potential functional properties and testing to explore functional properties with an illustrative case study.
